Website

Ashira Fischer-Wachspress (she/they) is a New York based actor and theatre-maker hailing from Rochester, NY. Discovering early on that her carefully curated living room performances were losing the captivation of her twin brother, Ashira decided to take her act beyond the couch to new stages, studying Drama at the Rochester School of the Arts for six years before moving to the City. Ashira has since studied classical acting at The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, and most recently Theatre Performance and Anthropology as a dual degree graduate from Fordham University. Since graduating, Ashira originated the title role in Chamber Theatre Company’s world premiere of the Edgar Allan Poe adaptation, Rowena. Recent highlights include “Halina” in Indecent, “Gwendolyn” in The Importance of Being Earnest, and “Usher/God/Understanding” in Everybody. Beyond performing, catch her gallivanting across New York singing jazz and searching for the best empanadas in the city. (@shirafw)
