Charlie Thurston (he/him/his) was born and raised in Prairie Village, Kansas (Rock Chalk, Jayhawk, Go KU). He received a Bachelor of Specialized Studies in Performance and Playwriting from Cornell College in Iowa and his MFA in Acting from Brown University/Trinity Rep.
His TV and film credits include Finestkind for Paramount+, Boston Strangler for Hulu, a recurring role on the HBO Max series Julia, Dexter: New Blood, Law and Order: SVU, the Screen Gems feature The Unholy, the Amazon Studios film Life, Itself starring Oscar Isaac and Olivia Wilde and the TriStar Pictures thriller Money Monster starring George Clooney and Julia Roberts, directed by Jodie Foster.
In 2024, Charlie will be performing in the New York Theatre Workshop / Tectonic Theater Project’s production of Here There Are Blueberries.
In addition to performing at such wonderful institutions as American Repertory Theater, La Jolla Playhouse, Fault Line Theatre, Cleveland Playhouse, Arden Theatre Company, Intiman Theatre, Baltimore Centerstage, Chautauqua Theatre Company, Redmoon Theatre and more, Charlie is a member of the Acting Company at the Tony-Award winning Trinity Rep in Providence, RI. One of his favorite roles there was as the titular character in Dave Malloy and Jason Craig's rock musical Beowulf: A Thousand Years of Baggage. Also at Trinity, Charlie had the great fortune of performing in the world-premiere of Sarah Ruhl and Todd Almond's Melancholy Play: A Chamber Musical, directed by Liesl Tommy and most recently the world premiere of The Prince of Providence by George Brant, directed by Obie Award winner Taibi Magar. He is also a founding member of The Williams Project in Seattle, Washington, where he last performed in James Baldwin's searing drama Blues for Mister Charlie.
