Deborah Rayne was born and raised in blue collar Pennsylvania, moving to NYC to pursue a career in the arts. She received a full tuition scholarship to Hofstra University, where she applied herself to her liberal arts education, gaining invaluable experience on (and behind) the stage. Her classical training at Hofstra served her well in her years in the professional theater, as well as translating seamlessly into work in television, film, commercials, voiceovers and even video game motion capture! Always evolving, Deborah has added “Producer” to her resume, launching Rainy Day Productions in 2012. This start-up production company focuses on developing world premiere plays, as well as indie television and film projects from emerging writers. Deborah and her company are particularly interested in amplifying the voices of women, as they champion female led narratives featuring female-identifying writers and directors. Now counting herself among those creative forces, Deborah has begun a new chapter in her career; as a writer. Her pilot script, “Flawless: A Feminist Fairytale”, has won several writing awards, and is slated for production in 2021. Her latest pilot script, “Kingmaker” is the true story of the life of Marion Keisker; a Civil Rights and Women’s Rights icon, who just so happened to discover Elvis Presley and change the world. It is currently being pitched to major networks. www.RainyDayProductionsNYC.com
