Richard Toth is an actor and writer based in NYC. He was recently seen on NBC’s The Blacklist and on the Showtime series Billions. He had a recurring role on the third season of Netflix's critically-acclaimed series House of Cards as FEMA Director Arnold Silva. He co-starred with Madeline Brewer and Ann Dowd on the feature film Hedgehog. Recent New York theatre credits include I'll Never Love Again by Clare Barron (The Bushwick Starr), Heartbreak (New Georges/The Bushwick Starr) Dreamless Land (NYC Players), Saint Joan of the Stockyards (Stillpoint), The Archery Contest (Hotel Savant) and Protest (Havel Festival). Past television credits include Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sex and the City and Law and Order. He has appeared in the films Dead Fire, Hostage Train, The Buttoners, Mandragora, Les Miserables and two! films subtitled Chained Heat 3 (Hell Mountain and Dark Confessions).

Other performance work includes traveling the country as a clown with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus, and as a puppeteer with Hudson Vagabond Puppets.

He was co-founder and director of Misery Loves Company, an international performance group based in Prague that incorporated American slapstick with traditional puppet and folk theatre traditions of the Czech Republic. Highlights of his stay include directing the Eastern European premiere of Angels in America and his own adaptation of King Stag by Carlo Gozzi.

Richard is also a playwright and has developed and produced his work with such institutions as HERE Arts Center, Perseverance Theatre, California Theatre Center, Irish Repertory Theatre and The Weasel Festival.

He received a BA in Philosophy from Fordham University at Lincoln Center, and an MFA in Playwriting from Brooklyn College.
